Job summary

Triple Cities Metal Finishing is seeking a Manufacturing Associate for the Paint & Powder Coat Department. You will prepare and rack metal parts, operate a forklift, inspect finishes, and manage outgoing orders in our ERP system.

You will assist with masking and surface prep, log production data in Steelhead, and ensure parts meet quality standards. This is a 2nd shift role with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Proficient in ERP software (Steelhead) and basic shipping tools.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to identify defects or operational issues and recommend solutions.
• Standing for extended periods on the shop floor.
• Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Load, hang, rack, and un-rack metal parts onto racks, hooks, and conveyors per job specs.
• Inspect incoming parts for surface defects, oils, or residue prior to painting/coating; inspect finished parts post-coating for quality.
• Assist with masking, plugging, and surface prep per customer specs.
• Log time segments and update job statuses in Steelhead ERP; maintain production data.
• Ship off orders in ERP; verify part counts against paperwork.
• Package finished orders securely and prepare shipping documents.
• Inspect painted and powder-coated parts for defects (runs, sags, coverage, contamination).
• Verify finished products align with work instructions and customer requirements.
• Safely operate an industrial forklift to move raw parts and finished goods.
• Load/unload freight, stage materials, and move goods to shipping dock.
• Wear PPE and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Perform equipment maintenance and booth cleaning as directed.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Triple Cities Metal Finishing is currently seeking a motivated Manufacturing Associate to join our team in the Paint & Powder Coat Department. As a Manufacturing Associate, you will play a crucial role in maintaining quality, safety, and productivity through a hands-on approach. Specifically, this role focuses on preparing and racking metal parts, operating a forklift for material handling and shipping, inspecting finishes, and managing outgoing orders using our ERP system.

Position Overview

• Load, hang, rack, and un-rack metal parts and components onto specialized racks, hooks, and conveyors according to job specifications.
• Inspect incoming parts for surface defects, oils, or residue prior to painting/coating; inspect finished parts post-coating for proper coverage and quality.
• Assist with masking, plugging, and surface preparation as required by customer specifications.
• Navigate and utilize the company ERP system (Steelhead) to log time-segments, update job statuses, and maintain accurate production data.
• Ship off orders in the ERP system, verifying completed part counts against production paperwork.
• Securely package finished orders to protect coated surfaces and prepare shipping documentation.
• Inspect painted and powder-coated parts for defects such as runs, sags, light coverage, or contamination.
• Verify that finished products align with work instructions, coating guidelines, and customer requirements.
• Safely operate an industrial forklift to transport raw parts, coated components, and heavy racks throughout the department and staging areas.
• Load and unload freight, stage materials for production lines, and move finished goods to the shipping dock.
• Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, safety glasses, respirators/masks where required) to protect against dust, chemicals, and sharp edges.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company safety standards.
• Perform equipment maintenance, booth cleaning, and housekeeping as directed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred.
• Skills & Competencies:
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
  • Basic math and computer literacy; ability to navigate ERP software (Steelhead) and basic shipping tools.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Mobility: Bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, and performing repetitive physical motions associated with racking parts.

Shift Hours

• 2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday, 2:30 pm - 1:00 am

Total Compensation Package

• Wage:
  • $16.50 - $18.00 per hour (depending on candidate experience)
  • $1.00/hour shift differential for 2nd Shift
