Job summary

Microwave Power Products (MPP) in Palo Alto, CA is hiring Manufacturing Assembly Technicians/Assemblers. You will perform hands-on assembly, welding and quality checks to build precision RF and electronic components used in aerospace, defense, medical and industrial equipment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of hands-on assembly experience, can read drawings, and are comfortable with small parts and detailed processes. First and swing shifts with commuter-friendly benefits offered.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble components and subassemblies using detailed drawings and work instructions.
  • Perform resistance spot welding, laser/TIG welding, and brazing to join components in different production stages.
  • Assemble and leak-check subassemblies (including stems and coolers).
  • Follow all safety, quality, and process standards.
  • Work closely with assemblers, process engineers, and product engineers to meet production goals.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Support production schedules, including overtime when needed.

At Microwave Power Products, Inc. (MPP), we manufacture RF (radio frequency) and electronic components used in aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial equipment. Our work requires precision, attention to detail, and teamwork. Our assemblers play a critical role in building products our customers depend on every day.

Located in Palo Alto, California, MPP has more than 70 years of manufacturing experience and is now part of TransDigm Group, a global aerospace and defense company. YOUR DAY TO DAY (What You’ll Actually Do)

You’ll spend your day building and assembling components with high precision, working from drawings and instructions, and using different welding and joining methods to create high-quality parts. This is hands‑on work that requires focus, consistency, and pride in what you produce.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR (Key Responsibilities)
  • Assemble components and subassemblies using detailed drawings and work instructions
  • Perform resistance spot welding, laser/TIG welding, and brazing to join components in different production stages.

YOU ARE A GOOD FIT IF YOU…
  • Have 3+ years of hands‑on assembly, manufacturing, or similar experience
  • Can read and follow mechanical drawings and written instructions
  • Are comfortable working with small parts and detailed processes
  • Have experience with welding, brazing, or similar joining methods (or are willing to learn)
  • Take ownership of your work and show up ready to contribute
  • Communicate clearly and work well with a team
WHAT TO EXPECT (Work Environment & Physical Demands)
  • Mostly seated work (about 80% of the day)
  • Frequent use of hand tools and movement between workbench and equipment
  • Work may involve microscopes and fine‑detail assembly
  • Repetitive hand movements and precision work
  • Occasional standing, walking, and lifting of materials/tools

This position may involve access to information subject to U.S. export control laws (ITAR/EAR). Access to certain controlled information may be limited to individuals who qualify as “U.S. persons” (generally U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and certain protected individuals). Non‑U.S. persons may still apply; however to be eligible for the role, access to controlled information may require U.S. government authorization.

Applicants must be able to comply with applicable export control requirements. For security clearance position, the candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance as required, holding a security clearance is a plus.
