Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
- Experience teaching or providing instructional support; familiarity with advanced manufacturing equipment (CNC, robotics, 3D printing).
- Willingness to travel regionally to schools and events.

The Build Freedom Training Center Teacher Coach facilitates the expansion and enhancement of the Manufacturing and Engineering Education Reimagined for All (MEERA) program and supports K-12 programming associated with the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI) across the Ottawa Area ISD. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality professional development and industry-relevant technology integration to K-12 educators. By equipping teachers with the skills to implement cutting-edge curriculum and hands-on learning, this position serves as a strategic catalyst to supercharge regional Career and Technical Education (CTE) pipelines and expose students to high-demand career opportunities in manufacturing, engineering, advanced composites, and related fields.
Working in close collaboration with the Career Education Planning District (CEPD) Administrator, the Teacher Coach ensures that classroom instruction and teacher preparation align with modern industry standards. Continuation of this position beyond the first year is dependent upon local career exploration needs and/or the potential expansion of middle school CTE programs within the state.
- Coordinatesand delivers MEERA professional development programs, including intensive summer training sessions and ongoing instructional support throughout the academic year.
- Coacheseducators on the effective implementation of MEERA curriculum and the utilization of K-5 STEM kits to foster early student interest in technical fields.
- Facilitatesa collaborative learning environment where teachers share best practices and advanced strategies for teaching manufacturing and engineering concepts.
- Supportsthe effectiveness of curriculum delivery through classroom observations and teacher feedback to ensure regional instructional goals are achieved.
- Implementstechnical assistance and consultation for advanced manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines, robotics, and 3D printers.
- Diagnosesand resolves technical issues andcoordinatesmaintenance schedules to ensure equipment readiness and classroom reliability.
- Leadsthe setup and configuration of classroom technology to ensure the seamless integration of industry-standard tools into the learning environment.
- Collaborateswith local business partners and industry sectors to align curriculum with workforce needs and foster student career opportunities.
- Cultivatesrelationships with local school districts and community stakeholders to expand the reach and impact of the MEERA program across the three-ISD region.
- Representsthe MEERA program at regional conferences, committee meetings, and industry events to build awareness and institutional support.
- Organizesregional student competitions and technical challenges that engage participants in real-world manufacturing and engineering problem-solving.
- Executesaccurate compliance and grant reporting as required by state, regional, and federal funding mandates.

- Required Education:Bachelor’s degree in Education, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Required Experience:Demonstrated experience in classroom teaching or providing instructional support; familiarity with advanced manufacturing equipment (CNC, robotics, 3D printing).
- Professional expertise within the manufacturing, engineering, or workforce development sectors.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling software, such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
- Multi-Environment Training:Ability to develop and deliver training effectively in both in-person and virtual learning environments.
- Interpersonal Communication:Strong communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders, including educators, administrators, and industry partners.
- Organization & Management:Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage complex project timelines.
- Technology Proficiency:Ability to effectively utilize a wide range of technology devices, educational applications, and specialized manufacturing software.
- Mobility:Ability to move between various facilities and school buildings.
- Equipment Manipulation:Ability to operate and manipulate technical manufacturing and engineering equipment.
- Physical Demands:Required to lift and/or move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.
- Travel Requirements:Regular travel to local schools and regional events is required. Additionally, the position requires travel to the National Training and Technology Center (NTTC) in Danville, VA, for specialized professional development. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Contract:205 Days
- Pay Range: Salary range of $62,899 - $78,624, commensurate with experience.
- Classification:Non-Union Salary - Pay Grade 15
