Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

Machine components to print and assist in the various stages of the machining process to achieve high quality parts at maximum output.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Vo-Tech/Trade School and/or 1-2 years experience

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Remains safety conscious at all times.


• Operates Manual Mills and Manual Lathes


• Performs routine maintenance on machines as necessary.


• Identifies, verifies, and checks quality of parts, tools, and materials used.


• Takes responsibility for quality of parts, tooling, and supplies.


• Deciphers job orders and blue prints.


• Uses various measuring devices such as calipers and gauges.


• Adjusts tools, fixtures, machine, thread, and checks tolerances on parts.


• Periodically inspects tools, parts, and equipment for accuracy and/or deficiencies.


• Verifies accuracy of paperwork.


• Fills out various logs and work order paperwork as needed.


• Works scheduled shifts that are needed for production.

*Employee may be required to work more or less than 40 hours/week as part of their regular schedule based on production needs.

Qualifications: SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Must have knowledge and experience setting up tooling and fixtures needed to fully operate Manual Mills and Manual Lathes.


• Ability to verify that milling machine head is perpendicular to milling machine table.


• Ability to indicate work in a four jaw independent chuck.


• Ability to read blue prints with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing symbolic language.


• Ability to use trigonometry and basic algebra for calculating appropriate spindle RPM and feed for materials and tools being used on Manual Mills and Manual Lathes.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Must have have effective verbal and written communication skills.


• Must be detailed with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize.


• Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook.


• Strong work ethic is essential.


• Ability to lift 51lbs or more on occasion with a lifting partner.
