Manual Machinist Saw Operator - 1st Shift Opportunity

Position Details: One position available on the 1st shift, from 6:48 AM to 3:18 PM.

Summary: This role involves operating tubes, saws, and lathes. Candidates must work safely, maintain high-quality standards, and report to the Production Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Unload steel trucks and organize materials.
  2. Operate multiple machines, including saws, annealers, straightening presses, and lathes.
  3. Inspect work and ensure tolerances are met.
  4. Understand machining principles and adjust machines accordingly.
  5. Identify and suggest improvements for product quality and productivity.
  6. Collaborate with material schedulers and product control teams to meet customer needs.
  7. Ensure compliance with safety, policy, and housekeeping standards.
  8. Monitor and measure products for adherence to specifications.
  9. Train new operators as needed.
  10. Prioritize tasks efficiently.
  11. Maintain and clean machines and work area.
  12. Troubleshoot machine issues.
  13. Encourage continuous quality improvement among coworkers.
  14. Minimize scrap and rework.
  15. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
  • Basic blueprint reading and product knowledge.
  • Set-up and tooling knowledge.
  • Understanding of feeds, speeds, gearing terminology.
  • Experience with overhead cranes and forklift operation.
