Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our Tukwila team. You will operate conventional machining tools, read drawings and blueprints, and balance rotating machinery components for AC/DC motors and generators.

Attention to detail, safe work habits, and the ability to work from sketches are essential. You’ll use lathes, grinders, drill presses, and calibration tools, follow safety procedures, and may read micrometers and dial indicators.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years related experience in manual machining.
• Ability to read micrometer measuring equipment.
• Experience in motor shop or machine shop environments preferred.
• Ability to operate manual lathes of varying sizes.
• Ability to read drawings/blueprints and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose incoming units, disassemble, repair, assemble, and prepare items for shipment.
• Operate engine and horizontal lathes, grinders, milling machines, and drill presses.
• Safely use overhead gantry cranes and lifting devices.
• Measure parts with dial indicators and micrometers to tight tolerances.
• Draw accurate prints for parts needing fabrication.
