Job summary

Universal Plant Services in Carson, CA is seeking a Manual Machinist to join our shop team. You will set up and operate lathes and milling machines to produce precision parts per specifications.

We require five or more years of manual machining experience, with strong measurement skills and blueprint interpretation. This full-time, local role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and process improvements in a dynamic work environment.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent, trade/technical schooling preferred.
• Five years of manual machinist experience or more.
• Experience reading drawings and using precision measuring tools.
• Ability to read and follow engineering specifications.
• Commitment to safety and PPE policies.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate VTLs, HBMs, engine lathes and milling machines.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Measure and inspect finished parts with micrometers and calipers to ensure tolerances.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep a clean, safe workspace.
• Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to improve processes and quality.
