Precision Steel Services in Toledo, OH is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our machining team. This role focuses on setting up and operating manual milling and grinding equipment to produce steel components to print and specifications.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience operating manual machining equipment.
• Experience with manual mills, boring mills, lathes, grinders.
• Experience setting up machines and selecting tooling.
• Experience with stock removal, tolerances, or similar machining requirements.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments to verify your own work.
• Ability to read blueprints, machining prints, work orders, and job travelers.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate horizontal and/or vertical boring mills.
• Perform manual machining operations to produce steel components to specification.
• Review prints, work orders, job travelers, and machining requirements before beginning work.
• Verify material condition, dimensions, stock allowance, and setup requirements.
• Position and secure material using fixtures, jigs, clamps, blocks, and other setup equipment.
• Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, depth gauges, and precision squares.
