If you’re the kind of machinist who can think through a repair,hold tight tolerances, and confidently run manual lathes and mills (notjust push buttons), this is a strong long-term opportunity.

This role supports real industrial work — hydrauliccylinders, rods, pistons, glands, precision machining, repair machining, andrework. The shop is known for tackling large, high-stakes hydrauliccomponents and quality-driven work. (Garrod Hydraulics )

What You’ll Be Doing

• Set upand operate manual engine lathes and manual mills (Bridgeport-style)
• Machineand repair hydraulic cylinder components (rods, pistons, glands,sleeves, etc.)
• Measureand hold tolerances using micrometers, calipers, indicators, boregauges
• Readand work from prints, sketches, and dimensions
• Performrepair-style machining: fit-up, rework, salvage, and precisioncorrection
• Maintainclean, safe work habits in a production/repair environment

Requirements

• Manualmachining experience required (lathe + mill)
• Strongmeasuring skills and tolerance awareness
• Abilityto read prints / interpret dimensions
• Mechanicalmindset (repair work, not just repetitive parts)
• Reliableattendance (the team depends on you)
• Driver’slicense + reliable transportation

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experiencewith hydraulic cylinder repair/remanufacturing
• Experiencemachining large parts / heavy industrial components
• Backgroundin shops doing repair work, not just production runs
