Manual & CNC Machinist

Position Overview
A well-established manufacturer in Bucks County is seeking an experienced Manual and CNC Machinist to join its precision manufacturing team.
This is a hands‑on machining position requiring strong experience operating and setting up manual lathes and manual mills, along with CNC machining equipment. The ideal candidate can complete challenging setups, interpret engineering drawings, and manufacture complex components to tight tolerances with minimal supervision.
Candidates must have previous manual machining experience to be considered for this opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathes, manual mills, CNC lathes, CNC mills, and turning centers.
- Perform complex machine setups, tooling changes, and production adjustments.
- Manufacture precision‑machined components to close tolerances.
- Determine appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining methods.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Inspect completed parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Make machine adjustments based on inspection results and production requirements.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
- Complete production, inspection, and quality documentation accurately.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
- Work independently while meeting production schedules and quality expectations.
- Assist with training or mentoring less experienced machinists when needed.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of machining experience.
- Hands‑on manual machining experience is required.
- Experience setting up and operating manual lathes and manual mills.
- Experience operating CNC machining equipment.
- Ability to perform complex machine setups independently.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds, speeds, and materials.
- Ability to manufacture precision components to tight tolerances.
- Proficiency reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documents.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Experience
- Experience machining pumps, rotating equipment, or heavy industrial components.
- Experience working with large, complex, or low‑volume precision parts.
- Experience training or assisting junior machinists.
