Job Title: Temporary Manual Machinist (Horizontal/Vertical)

Location: Houston, TX 77040

Pay Rate: $26.00–$30.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM), Saturday (2:00 PM – 6:00 PM), Sundays as needed

Language Requirement: Must speak English

Description:

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to perform precision machining on pump components such as rings, bushings, sleeves, and shafts. The ideal candidate must be capable of holding tight tolerances (.001 T.I.R.) and operating manual lathe equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate horizontal and vertical manual lathe machines
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, including GD&T
• Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other tools
• Perform machine offsets and setups using fixtures and jigs
• Operate overhead and jib cranes safely
• Conduct routine machine maintenance
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all safety protocols and production procedures

Qualifications:

• Certificate in machine shop technology or a minimum 2-year apprenticeship
• At least 1 year of experience operating manual lathes
• Strong math, computer, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with heavy parts
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
