Job summary

Cannonball Recruiting LLC is seeking a skilled Manual / CNC Machinist to operate horizontal and vertical milling/boring machines and lathes in a manufacturing environment. The role handles parts from castings and bar stock, reading blueprints and GD&T, and maintaining production records.

We expect experience in both manual and CNC environments, ability to interpret drawings, and strong attention to detail. Training and safety procedures are emphasized, with shifts spanning 2nd and 3rd.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or advanced machining education preferred.
• Experience in manual and CNC environments strongly preferred.
• Ability to set up and operate manual machine tools independently.
• Experience reading blueprints and using precision measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of shop math, trigonometry, and GD&T.
• Familiarity with CNC machining, including G and M code editing.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to stand and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a variety of manual and/or CNC milling machines, boring mills, and lathes.
• Machine parts to precise tolerances, including tolerances as close as .0002”.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and specifications.
• Use hand tools, precision measuring tools, and inspection equipment accurately.
• Perform minor CNC program edits and work with G and M code programming.
• Select proper speeds, feeds, cutting tools, and work holding methods for machining operations.
• Participate in designing jigs and fixtures to support machining processes.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment safely.
• Verify documentation matches parts and maintain accurate production records.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and support production needs as required.
• Participate in required safety training and follow all company safety procedures.
