Your Mission

Are you a skilled machinist with experience in both manual and CNC machining? Do you have a strong understanding of reciprocating compressor components? If so, we want you on our team!

At HOERBIGER Service Inc., we specialize in precision machining and high-quality component manufacturing for the energy industry. We’re looking for a Manual & CNC Machinist who thrives in a hands-on environment, ensuring top-notch machining of compressor parts using both traditional and modern techniques.

How you will make a difference

• Precision machining on horizontal boring mills and large manual lathes; set up, adjust and operate CNC and manual machines to meet exacting specifications.
• Blueprint Interpretation.
• Quality Assurance: Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring tools to ensure adherence to tolerances.
• Efficiency & Optimization: Provide feedback on equipment, tooling, and fixtures to minimize setup time and reduce scrap/rework.
• Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Work closely with production Supervisors and quality teams to improve efficiency, cost, and safety.

What you should be good at

Technical Expertise:

• 5-10+ years of experience in setting up and operating both manual and CNC machines in a fast-paced environment (horizontal boring mills and large manual lathes).
• Ability to set up and indicate jaws, select cutting tools, adjust offsets, and troubleshoot CNC programs.
• Strong understanding of reciprocating compressor components and machining (preferred).
• Strong math skills to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, engineering memos, and material data sheets.
• Clear communication in English, with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong reasoning skills to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry or with reciprocating compressors is a plus.
• This is a hands-on role requiring frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs).
• Must be flexible to work overtime, 12-hour shifts, and weekends based on production needs.
