Job summary

The Kinetic Group in Lonoke, AR is seeking a Manufacturing Operator to support efficient production by transporting materials, loading machines, and weighing scrap for SAP/MRP reconciliation. Maintain strict safety, documentation, and housekeeping standards while following all plant rules.

Ideal candidates will have forklift experience, basic PC skills, and the ability to work on extended shifts as needed. Overtime may be required; comprehensive benefits are offered.

  • One year forklift experience and ability to pass forklift certification.
  • Ability to read and understand process instructions and record data.

Responsibilities

  • Transport raw materials, semi-finished goods and finished goods as required.
  • Load raw materials into machines and convey materials to work areas.
  • Weigh and reconcile scrap in SAP/MRP system; maintain process records.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area following 5S standards.
  • Mentor new and temporary associates in assigned tasks; assist with training.
  • May handle hazardous waste under supervision and complete required training.

Job DescriptionGeneral SummaryTransports raw material, semi-finished goods and finished goods as required to insure efficient process flow. Drains and fills machines with raw material or semi-finished goods as required. Weighs and reconciles scrap in SAP/MRP system. Follows oral and written instructions, wears protective equipment where and when directed and obeys all plant and safety rules and regulations. Supports the facility's mission, safety and ISO goals and directives and is an active participant of the Remington Team. Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions) • Works in a safe and orderly manner at all times. Obeys plant, department and area rules and regulations and proactively encourages other team members to do so. • Obtains, maintains and wears or uses all necessary safety equipment as directed by work instructions or area supervisor. • Attends shift, department and plant meetings in a timely manner as directed by supervisor. • Tends one or more machines or processes in work area(s) as directed by area supervisor, including but not limited to: o Conveying raw materials to machine(s) or work area(s) o Loading raw materials into machine(s) or work surfaces o Conveying, weighing and processing process scrap materials • Maintains process integrity with proper documentation and observance of process records • Maintains a clean and orderly work area at all times. • Assists in mentoring new and temporary associates in assigned work area. • May handle hazardous waste, including labeling, inspecting, storing and transferring. • Hazardous Waste Management training must be completed within six months of entering the job and annually each year thereafter. All employees handling hazardous waste must work under direct supervision of a supervisor or other employee trained in hazardous waste management until the employee has received Hazardous Waste Management training. • Must be forklift certified – 1 year experience. • Comply with all safety standards and regulations provided by the company and government (e.g. LOTOT, Work Permits, etc.). • Operates machinery and achieves key performance metrics. • Adheres to all housekeeping/sanitation standards in and around work area including 5S standards. • Performs required quality inspections and delivers samples to Ballistics. • Serves as a team member to solve problems or implement positive improvements. • Assist with any other projects and/or tasks on an as needed basis as directed by Team Leader and/or management. *NOTE: This list presents only the principal duties of the position and is not intended to be comprehensive. Original 12-March-2014 Educational Skills and Experience • High School diploma, G.E.D. certificate or recognized equivalent • Ability to speak, read and write in the English language sufficient enough to perform the following: o Communicate effectively with other team members and supervision o Read and comprehend process instructions o Record pertinent process information as required • One year forklift experience – must be able to pass forklift certification. • Must possess basic personal computer skills sufficient enough to navigate menus and select, open and print documents. Work Environment • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; extreme heat; explosives and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires hearing protection to be worn in the work area. Physical Demands • Vision correctable to 20/20 with normal depth perception and peripheral vision • Ability to repeatedly lift and move up to 25 lbs. unaided • Ability to push a loaded production buggy weighing as much as 1,500 lbs. • Ability to stand or sit for up to 3 hours at a time • Ability to occasionally kneel, crouch, bend or extend reach as required to perform tasks • Ability to ascend and descend stairs • Ability to grasp and feel small parts Note: One or more of the Physical Demands may be waived to enable challenged individuals the opportunity of employment provided this accommodation does not adversely affect other employees.Work Environment:Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives.
