Ms. Lam Montessori in New York is seeking an Assistant Teacher fluent in Mandarin to join our warm, bilingual classroom. The role supports a lead teacher, prepares materials, and leads storytime, songs and language activities to enrich children's learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English.
• Mandarin knowledge: bopomofo/Taiwanese alphabet system is a plus, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Classroom Preparation: Daily setup and cleaning to create an inviting learning space.
• Support: Assist the Lead Teacher during classroom hours, lunchtime, and nap times.
• Engagement: Lead storytime, singing, arts and crafts, holiday and other language activities.
• Materials Management: Prepare and restock teaching materials to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Leadership: Take ownership of the classroom and step up when needed.
• Collaboration: Foster a positive school environment through open communication with the Director, Lead Teacher, and other staff.
