Job summary

American Montessori Society Inc is seeking a Mandarin Teacher/Assistant Teacher for our Montessori preschool's immersion program. The role blends classroom teaching with collaborative planning to support young learners in a bilingual setting.

Candidates should have a passion for early childhood education; Montessori training is not required, and scholarships for AMS/AMI certification are available. Ongoing professional development and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Montessori training is not required for this position; AMS certification scholarships are available.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (or AA degree or working toward BA)
• 6-12 units of early childhood education
• Respect for children, positive attitude, enthusiasm, teamwork, commitment

Responsibilities

• Implement developmentally appropriate Children’s House program for ages 3–6 in collaboration with a lead or co-teacher.
• Exhibit enthusiasm, flexibility, and a desire to collaborate with colleagues across classrooms.
• Maintain excellent communication with families to provide timely feedback on student progress.
• Engage in growth-minded professional learning and mission-driven development.
• Performing various duties including classroom coverage, lunch duty, etc.
• Maintain aesthetically pleasing classroom space and common areas.
• Attend faculty and team meetings as appropriate.
• Participate in admissions programming as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Our preschool seeks a Montessori Mandarin Teacher for our Mandarin Immersion Program. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a bilingual environment where students develop fluency and cultural appreciation through immersive, Montessori experiences.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching Mandarin to young children.
