Job summary

Washington Yu Ying Public Charter School seeks a Chinese Substitute Teacher for the In-house role. This part-time position (0-20 hours weekly) covers regular teachers’ plans, from 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, at our Washington, DC campus. A Bachelor’s degree is required, with strong Mandarin language skills highly preferred and IB PYP familiarity a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; education degree preferred.
• Native-level Mandarin Chinese strongly preferred.
• 1 year of classroom teaching experience preferred; elementary/early childhood experience valued.
• Familiarity with IB Primary Years Program framework is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons per the substitute teacher's plan.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment and follow school policies.
• Collaborate with campus principals and teaching staff to support students.
• Supervise students during the scheduled school day and manage classes as assigned.
