Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant to lead complex remediation projects in the Liability Portfolio Management & Remediation team in Ewing, NJ. You will mentor staff, manage client relationships, and drive innovative strategies across industries.

The role requires a PE/PG license in NJ, active LSRP, and 6+ years in site investigation and remediation, with strong communication, writing, and leadership skills. Travel and independent work are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or related discipline (Master's preferred).
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in site investigation and remediation (8+ years preferred with 5 years in NJ).
  • PE or PG license in NJ or reciprocity; active LSRP license.

What You'll Bring
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or related discipline (Master's preferred). Or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ (8+ years preferred with 5 years in New Jersey) of progressive experience in site investigation and remediation
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license in NJ or reciprocity
  • New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) (active)
  • Proven project management skills with CERCLA/RCRA/state program experience.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Preferred:
  • Experience with environmental data management systems (e.g., EQuIS).
  • Advanced technical writing and proposal development skills.
  • Familiarity with innovative remediation technologies and high-resolution site characterization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute complex site investigations, risk assessments, and remediation projects for clients in manufacturing, power, chemical, oil & gas, and technology sectors.
  • Plan and oversee field activities including sampling, drilling, well installation, vapor intrusion assessments, and remedial construction.
  • Analyze environmental data, develop conceptual site models, and prepare technical reports and work plans.
  • Design and implement remediation strategies using traditional and emerging technologies.
  • Mentor junior staff and collaborate with technical experts to deliver exceptional client value.
  • Prepare winning proposals and actively participate in business development.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, regulators, and subcontractors to ensure project success.

For the Managing Technical Consultant, Engineer/Geologist/Scientist Project Manager position, theanticipatedannual base pay is $112,000 –$142,900(USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees arenot bonuseligible).
