Managing Sales Director - USA Branch Operations

For a company specialized in providing Freight Forwarding services.

With over a decade of experience in the U.S. market, the company has become a key player in the international logistics sector, operating as a strategic hub for air, sea, and land operations across Latin America and the Caribbean. Its structure combines a physical presence in the United States with a highly skilled remote team located across LATAM and Spain.

The organization has grown through international partnerships, a strong network of agents, and an entrepreneurial culture. It is currently focused on strengthening its local and regional presence through a strategy aimed at profitability, commercial expansion, and operational excellence. The U.S. branch plays a critical role in cross-border operations and manages strategic accounts in the industrial, retail, and consumer goods sectors.

The work environment offers both organizational transformation challenges and commercial growth opportunities, requiring committed leaders with a strategic vision and deep understanding of the international logistics business.

Position Objective

The Managing Director will lead the commercial and logistics operations of the Miami branch, with a strong focus on growth, profitability, and strategic positioning in the market. The role will involve strengthening relationships with clients, suppliers, and carriers; consolidating internal processes; and enhancing the competitiveness of the U.S. hub by integrating sales, operations, finance, and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, execute, and oversee the national sales budget.
  • Identify business opportunities and strengthen local market presence.
  • Represent the brand at international trade shows such as Intermodal and through commercial visits to key countries (Colombia, Brazil, Uruguay).
  • Build strategic relationships with carriers, airlines, clients, and logistics partners.
  • Supervise the operational team (approx. 20 staff, including 5 on-site office employees and others in warehouses or remote locations).
  • Manage pricing and margins across sea, air, and land freight services.
  • Ensure swift and effective responses to logistics emergencies.
  • Lead continuous improvement processes and foster a culture of efficiency.

Education :

  • Degree in International Trade, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Additional training in Supply Chain, Logistics, or an MBA is highly desirable.

Experience :

  • At least 7 years of experience in international logistics, freight forwarding, or multimodal transportation.
  • Proven track record in leading commercial operations in the U.S. or LATAM.
  • Previous and direct engagement with shipping lines, airlines, and logistics operators.

Technical Knowledge :

  • Expertise in international logistics (maritime, air, and ground transportation).
  • Proficiency in Malaya CRM or similar platforms.
  • Applied financial knowledge related to cost centers and profitability.
  • Understanding of U.S. commercial and logistics regulations.

Languages :

  • Fluent in both Spanish and English.
  • Strategic and commercial leadership.
  • Strong results orientation.

Location and Scope
