Job summary

Torchy’s Tacos in Houston is seeking a Managing Partner (Restaurant GM) who wants to be a business partner in a growth-focused company and make a difference in people’s lives. The role emphasizes team selection, training, and development, with a path to wealth creation for the right candidate.

You’ll lead operations, plan inventories and budgets, manage P&L, train staff, and maintain safety standards while coordinating with HQ and regional teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a General Manager or above.
• State alcohol-servers and Manager ServSafe Certifications are required.
• Full casual dining experience; hands-on FOH and BOH.
• Experience with scratch kitchens is a big plus.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build strong teams by networking, interviewing, and hiring Managers and Team Members.
• Oversee profitable operations of the restaurant.
• Direct the Management Team and assign responsibilities.
• Plan, prepare, and oversee inventories and budgets weekly, monthly, yearly.
• Manage weekly and monthly P&L statements.
• Ensure training standards are maintained.
• Oversee restaurant cleanliness and safety procedures.
• Develop Team Members and Managers through training and policies.
• Coordinate with store vendors and HQ contacts.
• Attend regional meetings weekly and quarterly.

What you’ll be doing:

• Building strong teams by networking, sourcing, interviewing, and hiring Managers and Team Members
• Responsible for the successful and profitable operations of a restaurant
• Directing Management Team, including setting weekly Management schedules and assigning areas of responsibility to the Managers of the restaurant
• Planning, preparing, and overseeing weekly, monthly, and yearly inventories and budgets
• Managing weekly and monthly P&L
• Verifying training standards are being maintained
• Overseeing the cleanliness of the restaurant
• Consistently developing Team Members and Managers including training in employment policies and practices
• Understanding, managing, and practicing safe food handling procedures
• Acting as primary liaison with all store vendors and HQ contacts
• Attending weekly and quarterly regional meetings

QUE-SO…here’s what you’ll need:

Requirements of a Managing Partner:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a General Manager or above
• Required state alcohol-server and Manager ServSafe Certifications
• Full Casual Dining experience, a plus
• Hands‑on experience in all facets of FOH and BOH
• Previous exposure to a scratch kitchen, a BIG advantage
• Must be able to use to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
• Must be willing to stand for several hours and walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves at various height levels

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish, a plus.
