GENERAL FUNCTION
The Managing Optometrist is the leader and business owner within the marketplace and organization. They deliver the brand promise through key steps in the patient/customer journey, ensuring a superior patient experience and meeting the organization’s key performance metrics. They ensure all patients receive the highest quality optometric care.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create a compelling vision for the future, develop clear goals and operational plans, and ensure executional excellence and successful results in partnership with Regional and Store Managers.
- Set and communicate clear objectives and expectations, demonstrating commitment to exceeding results through strong KPI management and high accountability.
- Ensure LensCrafters is recognized as the leading optical provider within the community.
- Act as a stakeholder to all within the organization and local market.
- Focus on the patient/customer as the center of all efforts and deliver excellent service.
- Aim to exceed all KPIs.
- Lead and manage the team to provide unsurpassed patient service excellence.
- Address all visual lifestyle needs of patients/customers.
- Build lasting relationships with patients/customers and become their sole family practitioner.
- Listen carefully to patients/customers' questions or concerns.
- Provide a summary of overall eye health for patients/customers.
- Conduct services in accordance with protocols and accepted standards of care.
- Establish a positive doctor-patient relationship.
- Utilize and leverage all available technology to deliver an unsurpassed patient/customer experience.
- Communicate effectively with all office and store associates to ensure a seamless patient experience and transition.
- Maintain office quality systems.
- Maintain state licensure and practice within the full scope of that license; fulfill continuing education requirements.
- Provide effective on-the-job training and guidance to team members using company-provided programs.
- Deliver timely feedback to all associates, address performance issues directly and promptly, and practice performance management.
- Create a positive culture aligned with corporate vision and values.
- Engage and lead effective store huddles.
- Conduct chart audits with the Associate Optometrist.
- Recruit, interview, and select high-caliber, success-oriented talent, creating a talent pipeline for succession planning.
- Forecast staffing needs based on available data and assign staff accordingly, adjusting quickly to changes in office traffic and patient demand.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, and acknowledge receipt of physical inventory.
- Ensure the office appearance and visual displays meet company guidelines.
- Maintain a safe working environment for all.
