Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced newsroom leader to partner with the EIC to set editorial strategy and standards for a multi-platform outlet in Chicago. You will oversee daily operations and foster cross-desk collaboration across newspaper, radio, digital, and visual teams.

You will drive inclusion and excellence in newsroom culture while guiding professional development and leading major initiatives such as investigations and election coverage.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of newsroom experience with leadership roles.
• Strong editorial judgment and experience in both daily and enterprise journalism.
• Deep understanding of local news and public media values; Chicago-area familiarity preferred.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead through influence.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in storytelling and leadership.
