Description

Gen II is searching for an experienced leader to spearhead the continued development and growth of the registered alternatives administration business, including interval funds, tender offer funds, REITs, Part IIs and BDC’s. The MD/Director of Retail and Regulatory Reporting is a senior role that will involve supporting the strategy for the registered alternatives business including the go to market approach, product offering, and technology and operating model. The role will manage existing teams in USA and help shape the teams in Europe, and report to the Head of US Client Service.

What you’ll be doing

Year one Objectives

  • Build key stakeholder relationships across multiple internal business units including operations and accounting as well as external partners such as transfer agents and custodians.
  • Take ownership of all regulatory reporting in the USA as well as the reporting to and preparation of board packs for our clients.
  • Participate and own certain workstreams in the Retail product development working group.
  • In partnership with our commercial team, identify growth opportunities to build our retail service line, to include both new clients and leveraging existing relationships.
  • Oversee the development of common services in Europe and hire or develop European SMEs to support the day-to-day delivery.
  • As part of your 90-day plan, work with operations and transformation leads to analyze the Gen II operational setup to support retail clients and bring your experience to advise on industry best practice across process optimization and leveraging market leading technology.

Responsibilities

Your role may include, but will not be limited to, the following tasks which we call ‘Defined Business Activities’. The list of defined business activities is not exhaustive and may be amended from time to time:

Client Facing
  • Executive sponsor for key clients of Gen II in the Retail Sector, inspire confidence by working with key decision makers and influencers to build strong and effective relationships.
  • Act as a point of escalation and liaise with the operations teams to resolve any issues that may arise. Immediately notify other key stakeholders should a material issue occur.
  • Actively monitor agreed KPIs, ensure accurate and timely reporting and oversee /run service review meetings.
  • Provide strategic guidance and be prepared to challenge where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate and share knowledge of Retail market trends and the impact on client’s businesses.
Business Development & Marketing
  • Have a holistic view of the business line and work closely with the Commercial Team with responsibility for leading the conversion of new business prospects and being the market lead in the marketplace for these services
  • Influence the pricing approach and process for Retail Services.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the client service model and engagement requirements including and not limited to scope of services, forward client strategy, staffing, workflow, billing.
  • Define client needs by listening actively to their requirements and providing solutions.
Leadership and Management
  • Directly oversee the administration team responsible for preparing financial statements and regulatory filings while working closely with the operations and accounting teams.
  • Take overarching responsibility to meet any regulatory or SEC requirements including reporting requirements.
  • Generate innovative ideas that challenge the status quo but are strategically sound and encourage others to demonstrate innovation.
  • Identify talent and develop high-potential people within the immediate team and the Gen II Group.
  • Build commitment through fair, consistent and persuasive behavior, championing ideas and setting realistic and challenging objectives through appraisal and other performance measurement initiatives.
  • Act as a role-model leader, maximizing the contribution of your business to Gen II as a whole, both through your own efforts and by leading, supporting and developing others across the Group.
  • Support Revenue Growth across all locations for Retail Services.
  • Support the critical assessment of front-line costs / margin proposed in budget and support Country Heads with margin delivery.
  • Participate in, plan, and advise clients on quarterly Board meetings, including the completion of administrator's reports and preparation and dissemination of Board materials.
  • Attend, constructively contribute and chair internal committees/meetings as required from time to time.
  • Maintaining a sound working knowledge of the use and impact of information technology and systems that are relevant to the business of the Gen II Group and to its clients.
JOB REQUIREMENT EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 10-15 plus years of registered fund administration experience required, alternative investment strategies experience is preferred.
  • Proven experience managing and growing similar retail products.
  • Experience with international retail products such as ELTIF, LTAF, etc. is highly beneficial.
  • Experience working with regulatory reporting systems to process regulatory filings, Confluence a plus.
  • Proficient in all SEC filings required for registered funds including, but not limited to, 10Q/10k, N-PORT, N-CEN, N-CSR, Form TO, N-23C3 and Form D.
  • Familiar with the required registered fund protocols around daily NAV review and error management. Examples include variance analysis, pricing verification and NAV tolerances.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Proven ability to set up a product line and grow a client portfolio.
  • Ability to work across multiple internal business units including operations and accounting as well as external partners such as transfer agents and custodians.
  • Comprehensive understanding of company law and current industry legislation, regulation and working practices.
  • Proven people management skills, with ability to lead and develop teams.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes in process and procedures in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Superior problem solving, judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to think independently, prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.

  • Strong IT skills and knowledge of fund administration systems and platforms.

The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $240,000, in addition to a discretionary bonus, eligibility to be considered for the Gen II Incentive plan (LTIP). and a comprehensive benefits package. Please note that the actual salary offer within that range will depend on the candidate’s experience level.

Work Arrangement

All applicants applying to Gen II Fund Services, LLC must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note that US employees are required to work a hybrid schedule, comprised of three (3) days a week in our New York office and two (2) days remotely.
