Position

The Managing Director, Program Growth & Impact is a leader responsible for driving new business and sustaining high-quality delivery across multiple school system partnerships. This externally facing role focuses heavily on business development, cultivating new district opportunities, closing multi-year service contracts, and guiding the successful launch and renewal of instructional partnerships across one or more territories.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Programs, the Managing Director also oversees a team of Senior Directors of Implementation & Growth who manage program execution, implementation quality, client satisfaction, and renewal efforts. This role ensures cohesion between sales, service delivery, and long-term partnership health.

This leader will be supported by a cross-functional internal team, including the Partnerships Team, led by the Senior Vice President of Partnerships, who manages proposal development and pipeline operations, and the Marketing & Communications Team, which provides brand, messaging, and engagement support for business development. Together, these teams work collaboratively to amplify your efforts in driving new business and building enduring relationships.

• Leading complex sales and business development efforts, including prospecting, proposal design, and deal closure with district or network decision-makers?
• Managing multi-million-dollar pipelines and closing long-cycle, high-value service agreements?
• Overseeing implementation teams that ensure excellent program delivery, client satisfaction, and contract renewals?
• Translating instructional design into delivery-ready solutions that meet school system priorities?
• Developing and executing a national growth strategy that leads to meaningful partnership and revenue expansion?
• Serving as a trusted advisor to senior education leaders on how to improve teaching and learning at scale?
• Leading teams that bridge business development and implementation, ensuring seamless transitions from signed deals to high-impact delivery?
• Working collaboratively with internal experts in partnerships, marketing, and communications to grow organizational reach?

Role

• 10+ years of experience, including 5+ years in sales, strategic partnerships, client delivery, or business development roles (education sector preferred)
• Proven success in securing and expanding large-scale service contracts, with experience navigating district or network procurement and decision-making
• Experience managing senior leaders who oversee implementation, performance, and renewals across large portfolios
• Deep understanding of K–12 instructional improvement and how to operationalize high-quality professional learning engagements
• Strong consultative communication and negotiation skills
• Familiarity with CRM and performance tracking tools (Salesforce preferred)

Travel Requirements

This is a remote position that requires up to 40% travel

• National travel for org retreats, programming, job related travel, donor meetings or professional development
• Outside of the above mentioned travel, this person will work from a home office that must be located anywhere within the U.S.

Compensation

If hired for this position, the compensation range for this position starts at $120,961, with a midpoint of $157,249, and a maximum of $191,241 annually. Compensation is competitive, commensurate with experience and in alignment with internal alignment . Candidates, either newly hired or new to the role, can typically expect a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal alignment , and the budgeted amount for the role. In addition, Leading Educators offers a very generous benefits package including 100% paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for individual employees. Eligible dependents receive 60% medical premium cost coverage and 100% coverage for dental, and vision plans. We also offer a 4% matching 401k plan, Flexible Spending Accounts for medical, childcare and commuter expenses, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Benefits are valued at or above $9,000 for employees.

Additionally, Leading Educators offer generous time off with pay in order to support a sustainable high performance work culture. During the first three years of employment, full time staff accrue 22 days a year. Five additional days are accrued after the third and sixth year of employment. Leading Educators also offer 16 additional paid days off for various holidays, including three floating holidays staff may use at their discretion.
