The Valuation & Capital Market Analysis (VCMA) Managing Director is responsible for providing expert opinions on the value of businesses, securities, and other assets in legal disputes. The role includes managing valuation assignments, leading staff, and driving business development within the practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert opinions on the value of assets in legal disputes, including shareholder disputes, M&A, bankruptcy, and estate planning.
  • Testify as an expert witness in court and legal proceedings.
  • Conduct complex valuations, financial analyses, and prepare reports.
  • Develop and execute business development strategies, maintaining client and legal counsel relationships.
  • Coordinate with alliance and international firms on opportunities.
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations, legal cases, and best practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily workload of VCMA staff and review work product.
  • Ensure staff training on valuation tools and models.
  • Evaluate staff performance and support professional growth.
  • Provide performance feedback and act as a career mentor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (required); Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years in business valuation, with 10+ in litigation support.
  • Experience testifying in hearings, depositions, trials.
  • CPA, CFA, ASA, or similar credential (required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Capital IQ and Bloomberg preferred.
