Ankura Consulting Group seeks a Managing Director to lead our eDiscovery and digital forensics practice in New York. You will spearhead project teams, align with client objectives, and deliver high‑quality analytical workflows across complex engagements.

Responsibilities include client engagement, risk management, staff development, and driving innovative solution delivery while maintaining strict confidentiality and project integrity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; preferred digital forensics, engineering, CS, IT or analytics background.
  • 12+ years of experience in Digital Forensics and related space.
  • Proficiency with forensic software such as EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite and Magnet AXIOM.
  • Experience with email systems like Office 365, Exchange, Lotus Notes/Domino, eVault.
  • Familiarity with cloud storage and collaboration tools (Slack, Dropbox, Box, etc.).
  • Experience with eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity, Brainspace, Disco, Nuix.

Responsibilities

  • Preserve and analyze ESI using industry standard tools and practices.
  • Manage secure transfer of digital evidence with chain of custody.
  • Maintain information integrity for court admissibility.
  • Identify and recommend technology solutions and process improvements.
  • Lead day-to-day client engagement activities with stakeholders.
  • Review and finalize engagement work plans and project documents.
  • Lead engagement teams with internal and external experts.
  • Monitor and manage risks throughout the engagement cycle.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of client engagements.
  • Communicate with counsel, clients, and internal teams to manage expectations.
  • Develop, train, and mentor staff; participate in year-end reviews.
  • Design and deliver client proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Participate in business development, public speaking events, and client meetings.

Role Overview:

As a Managing Director, you will lead and manage the project team, becoming familiar with the clients' big-picture objectives and challenges and execute on critical project deliverables to ensure these objectives are met on time and with the highest quality. With this knowledge you will be responsible for managing efficient, innovative analytical workflow solutions to address their issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Preservation and analysis of electronically stored information (“ESI”) using industry standard tools and practices

  • Secure transfer of digital evidence while maintaining chain of custody;

  • Maintain integrity of electronically stored information for admission in a court of law;

  • Proactive research and recommendations of technology solutions and process improvements that will ensure continued defensibility;

  • Day-to-day client engagement activities, including interaction with client personnel, internal Ankura team members, and other stakeholders involved in a given engagement;

  • Review andfinalizeengagement work plans, working papers, project documentation,progressand finalreportsto the highest level of quality

  • Lead and manage workof engagementteamcomprisedof internal and external experts in close,intermittent,and distant collaboration modes

  • Monitor and manage risks throughout the engagement cycle.

  • Adhere to the strictest standards of client and engagement confidentiality and integrity

  • Maintain active communication with counsel,clients,and internal team to manage expectations and ensure satisfaction.

  • Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews

  • Design,craftand deliver client proposals, presentations, and marketing materials

  • Participate in business development activities such as public speaking events, conferences, seminars, marketingeventsand client meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred degree digital forensics, engineering, computer science, information technology, data analytics, or work experience in a related field

  • 12+ years of experience working in the Digital Forensics and related space

  • Experience with forensic software: EnCase, Access Data Forensic Toolkit, Cellebrite , Linux-based forensic tools, Magnet Axiom, Blackbag or similar forensic toolkit

  • Email Systems: Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes/Domino, eVault, email archive platforms

  • Cloud-based storage and chat collaboration platforms such as SLACK, Dropbox, Box, etc.;

  • Experience with eDiscovery Review/Processing Platforms is a plus: Relativity, Brainspace, Disco, Nuix, Law, MindsEye
