AMP is hiring a Managing Director, Government Affairs reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer.

In this position you will advance local and state legislative and regulatory advocacy functions, including research, policy analysis and communications with audiences to advance AMP priority opportunities. The position must develop strong professional relationships with peers in key external groups such as state associations, public service organizations, community coalitions, and state policymakers to ensure the success of AMP’s government affairs program.

As our Managing Director, Government Affairs you will work to:

  • Monitor and report on legislative and regulatory issues impacting AMP, with a focus on waste and recycling policies.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with government officials, policymakers, and stakeholders to support waste diversion goals.
  • Drive business growth by identifying and pursuing new opportunities, leveraging government contacts, and developing pricing strategies compliant with regulations.
  • Lead advocacy efforts, securing funding, project support, and policy changes through collaboration with lobbyists and influencers.
  • Serve as a national policy expert, supporting state and local go-to-market strategies and key account development.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on sales, marketing, operations, and project development.
  • Represent AMP at industry, government, and community events.

The successful candidate will have:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8-15 years of experience in project development, government partnerships, community organizing, political campaigns, and/or policy advocacy
  • Strong time-management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Motivational self-starter with ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work within the parameters of a gated and deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to recognize and address problems with expedited solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to take part in collaborative efforts with peers and colleagues.
  • A strong commitment to building community.
  • High attention to detail

Preferred:

  • A background with waste and recycling.

Working Location(s):

  • Full-remote with regular travel to AMP's Louisville, CO HQ and travel to potential customer sites.

Travel Requirements:

  • 25% - 50%

Salary & Compensation Information: $195,000 - $210,000 per year plus bonus

Equity Grant: The candidate selected for this role will be recommended for a stock option grant commensurate with the position and the candidate’s qualifications.
