Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior engineering leader to provide technical direction across its generation fleet, aligning with central standards and driving modernization. You will train staff, lead root cause analysis, and coordinate third-party support to optimize performance and safety.

The role requires 12+ years in power generation, 4+ years in leadership, and a PE license or equivalent. Travel up to 25% to generation facilities may be needed. Indianapolis area preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction and oversight of plant-level engineering matters across the generation fleet.
  • Coordinate with central engineering organization to implement standards, design bases, best practices, and technical requirements.
  • Provide training and oversight to operations staff.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and lead root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate third-party technical support.
  • Develop and implement the generation organization’s technical vision and strategic direction.
  • Direct plant-level engineering activities and support Plant Managers.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, equipment, and vendor solutions.
  • Drive modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develop annual work plans, capital projects, resource forecasts, Asset Health Reports, and long-term investment plans.
  • Promote safety, health, environmental, quality control, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain plant engineering staff and implement training programs.
  • Manage technical specifications, scopes of work, quality control, accountability, cost effectiveness, and service quality for contractors and vendors.
