Job summary

Advanced Energy United seeks a solutions-oriented, innovative Managing Director to join United’s policy team. The MD will oversee a team of advocates, shape policy strategies in the Central U.S.

region, lead member engagement, and develop multi-year campaigns to accelerate the transition to 100% clean energy. The ideal candidate has a background in issue advocacy at state or federal levels, experience with clean energy, and will travel up to 30% to meet members and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Advanced degree in Political Science, Public Policy, or Economics preferred, or applicable comparable experience
• Minimum of ten years of professional experience in public policy, with a portion in clean energy or transportation
• Experience managing a team in a remote environment

Responsibilities

• Lead development of political and policy strategies for accelerating the transition to 100% clean energy and electrified transportation
• Manage a geographically dispersed advocacy team and lobbyists on the ground
• Work with United members to develop and reach consensus on policy positions in key states
