Job Summary :
The Managing Director, BDO Capital Advisors, advises clients on mergers and acquisitions and strategic solutions aligned with their vision. This role involves driving business development through networking, with the goal of converting prospects into clients. The Managing Director oversees and executes transactions, ensuring all deliverables are met promptly and appropriately. Additionally, they oversee the workload of the execution team and serve as a mentor to staff. The ideal candidate must possess an entrepreneurial and metrics-driven mindset, focusing on departmental goals to deliver measurable revenue results.
Job Duties :
- Execute buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, managing financial and business due diligence for companies, private equity, or debt investors.
- Engage in business development by marketing services to external clients and internal partners, developing client networks, and supporting sales and marketing strategies.
- Build revenue-generating relationships through networking with prospects.
- Analyze client data to identify financial and operational trends, review quality of earnings, and assess liabilities and risks to guide decision-making.
- Review transaction documents and provide insights for negotiations.
- Identify pre- and post-close business opportunities and enhance go-to-market strategies.
- Commit to satisfying internal and external customers.
- Perform all job duties in the office.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
- Manage the efforts of the team, providing guidance with an apprenticeship approach.
- Lead due diligence meetings, draft and review tailored reports on key issues.
- Coordinate client approaches throughout transactions.
- Serve as the lead on engagements, managing client deliverables, overseeing colleagues, and providing real-time feedback.
- Lead the execution of transactions, including due diligence, valuation, and negotiations.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Education :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, required.
- MBA, required.
Experience :
- Ten or more years as a Managing Director at a middle market investment bank, required.
- Experience managing and leading teams of VPs, associates, and analysts, preferably in regional boutiques or middle market banks, required.
Licenses / Certifications :
- FINRA Series 7, 63, 79 licenses, required.
Software :
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, required.
