Qualifications

Managing Director of AI Services

Location: Remote (US) | Type: Permanent, full time | Experience: 12 to 15 years | Pay: $200K-$250K base + bonus + equity

About the Role

You'll run the operational engine of a newly forming AI services practice inside a fast-scaling, private equity-backed finance and accounting advisory firm. This role owns operating cadence and day-to-day delivery quality across AI engagements, sits in front of clients as a credible AI voice, and works closely with product and engineering teams building agentic systems and AI-native workflows in a regulated finance environment.

What You'll Do

• Own the operating cadence of the AI practice, including how the team plans, prioritizes, runs delivery, and reports on progress
• Keep a close handle on delivery quality across engagements, spotting issues before clients do and raising the bar over time
• Be the client-facing AI voice in the room, working alongside product and engineering rather than tossing work over the fence
• Translate between client needs and technical execution, keeping both sides grounded on scope, timeline, and feasibility
• Bring consulting rigor to a young practice through delivery frameworks, staffing models, quality gates, and an operating rhythm that can scale
• Partner with engineering and product leadership on how AI work is scoped, priced, and delivered
• Step into hard situations when needed, whether that's an at-risk engagement, a difficult client conversation, or a process that still needs work

Qualifications

• 12 to 15 years spanning management consulting and operations, with a track record of running delivery, not just advising on it
• A strong Senior Manager or Director profile from a top firm, including MBB, Big Four, or a respected boutique, with the drive to build and a willingness to stay hands-on. This is a must.
• Credibility discussing AI with both executives and technical teams
• Proven ability to set and enforce delivery standards in a fast-moving, high-expectations environment
• Comfort working in a regulated domain such as finance, accounting, or audit, or the judgment to ramp quickly
