Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees (JD or MBA) are a plus.
• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
• Experience navigating chaotic environments to achieve goals.
• Knowledge of bankruptcy is a must.
• Willingness to travel to clients, sometimes extensively.

Job Description

We are seeking a Managing Director to join our Strategic Advisory Group.This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join the Strategic Advisory Group. The ideal person for this role will need to have significant demonstrated experience in operational turnarounds and financial restructurings both in and out of bankruptcy court as well as within the context of Receiverships and Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors, and a strong grasp of the lending and M&A markets. This person will be a leader, who can think strategically, develop and implement a plan, and keep all the parties moving forward to effectuate the plan – generally during a crisis when there is a lack of human and financial resources.

J.S. Held’s Strategic Advisory Group helps distressed organizations stabilize operations, protect stakeholder interests, and execute turnaround strategies. We take an operationally-focused approach that looks beyond the balance sheet to minimize further degradation and build a path to sustainable growth. Our team delivers hands-on guidance and independent analysis to lenders, creditors, legal counsel, executive teams, boards of directors, and investors.

Our Strategic Advisory Group has openings available at the Managing Director level. The candidate will join an experienced and closely-knit team of professionals, with deep experience in leading, planning and solving the most complex client situations.

• Lead operational turnaround management and financial restructuring engagements;
• Provide expertise and leadership in investment banking, valuation, litigation support and asset disposition roles of our clients;
• Manage and lead teams of JS Held personnel;
• Lead interaction with client teams, shareholders, lenders and other stakeholders
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously;
• Work under stress in crisis situations with limited resources and tight deadlines;
• Provide marketplace leading skills in business development efforts to develop and further cultivate both existing and new referral source relationships within the legal, lending and investor communities in generating revenue opportunities;
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement go to market strategies related to driving revenue growth;
• Provide support in other ad-hoc tasks as requested.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 20+ years of relevant work experience within the turnaround and restructuring marketplace both in leading assignments and demonstrated abilities for business development.
• Ability to develop understanding and ability to cross-sell other JS Held expertise and service offerings both to existing and new referral source relationships.
• Ability to delegate and lead multiple projects and mentor subordinate professional staff a must.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university. Advanced degrees, such as JD or MBA, are a plus.
• Strong organization and attention to detail skills.
• Experienced working in challenging, often chaotic environments in leading client(s) to achieve the stated case(s) goals and objectives.
• Knowledge of all aspects of bankruptcy is a must.
• Able to multi-task and meet deadlines;
• This position requires travel to clients, at times extensive.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $250,000- $300,000.Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limitedto skillset,experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
