Job summary

Guidehouse seeks an experienced professional to advance climate resilience efforts for energy clients. You will conduct data-driven analyses, develop materials for workshops, and present findings that inform strategy and investment decisions.

You will lead project workstreams, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with client teams across Guidehouse offices and client sites. A strong background in Excel, R, Python, and ArcGIS helps you visualize and communicate complex results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and 5+ years in utilities or consulting.
  • Experience with climate resilience, grid modernization, and sustainability.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; capable of presenting findings clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to creative problem-solving to drive client outcomes.
  • Prepare fact findings, analyses, and client deliverables on energy topics.
  • Present results and synthesize insights for workshops and reports.
  • Lead technical workstreams and mentor junior analysts on projects.
  • Collaborate with teams in Guidehouse offices or client sites.

They will have a passion for creative problem-solving, client service, and project management.Key responsibilities for this position include:Contributing to creative problem-solving to drive outcomes for clientsProviding detailed fact findings, research, and analysis on energy-related activities (particularly climate resilience and adaptation, grid modernization, and sustainability)Understanding public and private sources of downscaled climate data and the ability to download the data, isolate it to client assets using methods such as nearest neighbor analysis.Performing statistical and economic analyses in Excel, R, PythonPreparing workshop and meeting materials, attending sessions, and summarizing outcomesPreparing reports, presentations, and other documents for client deliverablesPresenting results of assigned tasks and analyses that resonate with clientWorking effectively with colleagues and client staff as part of a project team; work independently as neededWhat You Will Need:Due to nature of client engagements must be either a US Permanent Resident or US CitizenBachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college and FIVE (5+) plus years of relevant utilities industry or consulting experience excluding internships/co-ops/graduate research/fellowshipsRelevant work experience should be related to climate resilience and adaptation, grid modernization, and sustainability or similarly relatedDemonstrated team player with ability to lead project technical workstreams including managing junior level analysts on projectsClient service orientationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience developing and delivering presentations in PowerPointOutstanding analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency with data analyticsStrong interest in business strategy, energy efficiency, and sustainabilityAn inquisitive nature and desire for continuous improvementTireless attention to detail in all prior experience (academic and professional)Superior interpersonal skillsAbility to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines.Highly developed organizational and management skillsAbility to travel as neededAbility to work in Guidehouse Office or Client OfficeWhat Would Be Nice To Have:Advanced degree in a STEM fieldEngineering relevant energy industry, utility, and/or consulting experienceKnowledge of and experience in climate and weather models and datasetsKnowledge of geospatial visualization tools such as arcGISAdvanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPointContribute to creative problem-solving to drive outcomes for clients.Provide detailed fact findings, research, and analysis on energy-related activities (particularly energy efficiency, grid modernization, renewable energy, customer programs, new business models, and sustainability)Experience creating models within Excel and/or experience with R or other programming languages (e.g., Python)Excellent at visualizing data, synthesizing insights, and storytelling with dataA history of successful, creative problem-solvingExcitement to explore the underlying cause of the observation/result#LI-DNIThe annual salary range for this position is $118,000.00-$196,000.00.
