Managing Consultant, Ecological Risk Assessor/Project Manager (Senior Level)

Overview

ERM seeks a motivated Managing Consultant, Ecological Risk Assessor/Project Manager to join our Site Investigation and Risk Assessment service. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership and support to expand ERM’s ecological risk assessment and site investigation services. Responsibilities include consulting, managing, and selling related projects, while networking with ERM's global technical team to share best practices.

This hybrid role ideally requires candidates to be based near Boston, MA; Manhattan, Rochester, or Syracuse, NY; or Hartford, CT. Remote arrangements will be considered for candidates residing in northeastern states but not near an ERM office.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop complex ecological risk assessment, site investigation, and remediation projects with multi-person teams. Manage multiple projects within scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with ERM global practitioners to execute site investigation and remediation projects across offices.
  • Provide leadership in staff performance management, recruiting, retention, and mentoring.
  • Develop strategic business plans, provide leadership, and deliver financial results to grow ERM’s Contaminated Site Management services.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, prepare technical proposals, and lead in client relationship development to generate repeat business.
  • Support cross-selling of ERM’s consulting services to existing clients.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental toxicology, biology, ecology, or related field; master’s or Ph.D. preferred, or equivalent 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience in ecological risk assessments and/or site investigation/remediation projects.
  • Minimum of 3 years of consulting experience in CERCLA-style ecological risk assessment and remediation, recognized for technical expertise.
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to site investigation and remediation.
Additional Information
