Environmental Resources Management, Inc. (ERM) is seeking a Managing Consultant for Capital Project Delivery to guide permitting strategies and environmental assessments for large-scale energy and tech projects in the Western Region.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of equivalent experience in environmental planning or related field.
• 4+ years of project management and permitting in energy/tech sectors across California or Arizona.
• Proven expertise in federal, state, and local permitting and planning (NEPA/CEQA).
• Strong technical writing and communication for reports and stakeholder presentations.
• Ability to manage project budgets and invoices, multiple priorities, and mentor junior team members.
• Ability to manage multi-disciplinary technical teams.
• Driver's license required for travel across a large geographic area.
• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

What You'll Bring

Required

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental studies, planning, geography, or related natural resources field—or 8+ years equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of project management and permitting experience in energy, tech, or similar sectors across California or Arizona.
• Proven expertise in federal, state, and local permitting and planning, including NEPA and CEQA compliance.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills for preparing concise, accurate reports and presenting findings to stakeholders.
• Ability to manage project budgets and invoices, multiple priorities, mentor junior team members, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage multi-disciplinary technical teams.
• Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred

• Experience developing permitting strategies for energy and/or tech projects, including local land use permitting and securing Conditional or Special Use Permits.

For the Managing Consultant, Capital Project Delivery position, the anticipated annual base pay is $92,500-$124,245 USD . Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).
