Job summary

Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) is seeking a Managing Attorney to oversee the Savannah Regional Office, providing leadership for delivery of civil legal services and ensuring compliance with standards and funder requirements.

The role includes supervising case acceptance, expanding community access to justice, and strengthening partnerships with government agencies, client groups, judges, and bar associations.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality civil legal services, including advice, negotiation, litigation, administrative advocacy, and other legal services, to clients and client groups.
• Assure that all legal work conducted by the office complies with applicable professional standards, Program policies and standards, Legal Services Corporation rules, and any applicable funder requirements.
• Lead case acceptance meetings, ensuring that case acceptance criteria are followed, and that local and Program policies are adhered to.
• Develop opportunities within the community to reach more clients and expand services.
• Cultivate good relationships with the local community, governmental agencies, client groups, judges and court personnel, and bar associations.

Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) is a statewide, nonprofit public interest law firm in Georgia that offers free civil legal services to low-income individuals, fostering equal access to justice and opportunities out of poverty. GLSP is founded on the belief that everyone deserves high-quality legal services regardless of income, age, race, or other demographic factors.

GLSP runs 10 regional offices that serve Georgians with low incomes living outside metro Atlanta in 154 of the state’s 159 counties. GLSP employs approximately 182 full-time staff members. We provide free legal aid across a wide range of civil issues, including family law, housing, access to public benefits, eviction prevention, farmworkers' rights, and educational access.

Job Summary

The Managing Attorney oversees the delivery of high-quality civil legal services in the Savannah Regional Office.
