Managing Associate Teacher - Kipp Ascend

This position is a full-time, mid-senior level role in the education and training industry, specifically within non-profit organizations.

Job Overview

Under the direction of the Director and Assistant Director, the Managing Associate Teacher assists in overseeing and directing the planning, organizing, and implementation of educational services for children. This includes classroom teacher duties and developing individual educational plans for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing environment by adhering to the NAEYC Code of Conduct.
  • Implement active supervision strategies indoors and outdoors.
  • Follow the Center’s Best Practice Schedule and Napping Policy.
  • Understand and apply Head Start Program Standards and Developmentally Appropriate Practices.
  • Collaborate with team members to create and facilitate lesson plans and activities.
  • Maintain developmental portfolios for each child, including assessments and observations.
  • Conduct home visits and parent conferences to discuss child development.
  • Implement family-style meals and promote social and self-help skills.
  • Work with family support and mental health staff to support children with disabilities and mental health needs.
  • Attend staff and parent meetings as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in early childhood education or child development, with required credentials.
  • Knowledge of Head Start philosophy, bilingual education, and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Proof of recent physical exam and background checks.
  • Personal qualities including emotional maturity, cooperation, respect, flexibility, patience, and good hygiene.
  • Experience in parent collaboration and working with diverse populations.
Additional Requirements
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and analytical skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and technology skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and work in a physically active environment.
Working Conditions
  • Potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases.
  • Long periods of sitting and standing, with physical activity involved.

The pay range for this role is $58,300 to $72,003 per year, with a $1,500 sign-on bonus. Applicants must upload a Professional Development Record (PDR) for consideration.
