Job Description Summary:

Responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all warehouse and distribution activities, including receiving, storage, inventory control, and shipping of raw materials and finished goods. Leads warehouse personnel to achieve operational, safety, quality, inventory accuracy, customer service, and cost objectives while ensuring compliance with GMP, food safety, OSHA, and company standards.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $90,000k- $120,000k per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Job Description:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manages the receipt, storage and distribution of raw materials, finished goods, and supplies in all warehouse locations including contract cold storage. Monitors the performance of contract carriers for inter-warehouse shuttles.
  • Responsible for all warehouse personnel, including training and development and performance management of all management, supervisory, and hourly employees. Manages in accordance with the union contract and coordinates the activities of the Shipping Department within Operations and other See’s Candies Departments.
  • May oversee Night Shift order-filling operation. Maintains standards for accuracy and timeliness of order completion.
  • Directs and monitors the product and supply inventory in all warehouse locations. Responsible for accuracy of ERP System (Ross).
  • Assists in the maintenance of Warehouses and grounds. Responsible for maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all warehouse locations.
  • Responsible Safety Programs within the Department. Assists Management in implementation of company-wide OSHA-regulated training programs.
  • Monitors and controls Inventory shrinkage, Food Safety Standards, Productivity measures, Departmental and Company KPIs, and Budget responsibilities for the Department.
  • Maintains visible presence in Warehouse locations to monitor manual and equipment operations and quality of product handling, storage, and distribution. Participates and leads various meetings including departmental, safety, and GMP.
  • Continuous Improvement. Leads continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, space utilization, and labor efficiency using Lean or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Regulatory Compliance. Ensures compliance with all FDA, GMP, SQF/HACCP (if applicable), OSHA, DOT, and company food safety and quality requirements.
  • Budget Management. Develops and manages departmental operating budgets, labor costs, capital expenditures, and expense control initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration. Partners with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Planning, Customer Service, Quality Assurance, Transportation, Maintenance, and IT to ensure uninterrupted product flow and customer service.
  • Warehouse Management Systems. Oversees warehouse management systems (ERP/WMS), inventory transactions, and system integrity while identifying opportunities for automation and process improvements.
  • Performance Metrics. Establishes, monitors, and reports departmental KPIs including Inventory accuracy, Order accuracy, On-time shipping, Labor productivity, Safety performance, Service levels, Warehouse capacity utilization.
  • Business Continuity. Develops contingency plans for labor shortages, equipment failures, inventory issues, weather events, and other operational disruptions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible warehouse and distribution experience in a food manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Experience with ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (Ross, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success leading large hourly and salaried teams in a union environment.
  • Experience coaching, developing, and holding employees accountable.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations, warehouse safety practices, and food safety requirements.
  • Experience managing cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory reconciliation, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Preferred Certifications: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt, APICS/ASCM certification, HACCP, Powered Industrial Truck certification.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Frequent walking throughout warehouse facilities.
  • Regular standing, climbing stairs, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Exposure to refrigerated environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as business needs require.
