Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Communications, Supply Chain or related field with 2 years of warehouse management or buyer experience.
• Alternatively, 4 years of Warehouse Manager/Buyer experience in an industrial setting.
• Experience with SAP or ERP systems including MRP/demand planning.
• Experience negotiating terms with corporate vendors.
• Experience analyzing procurement performance and budgeting/forecasting.

Responsible for managing the warehouse operations and distribution function for a mid-size distribution center warehouse located in Irving, TX. Duties and responsibilities will include:

• Manages and directs the daily operations of the team, including but not limited to: establishing mutual goals, assigning tasks, maintaining schedules and ensuring compliance with FMCNA and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) as well as adhering to regulatory specifications.
• Manages and establishes warehouse operational infrastructure, systems and budgets. Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs, operational, and personnel policies and procedures through management of direct reports.
• Ensures warehouse operational standards and company processes are maintained by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and directing the review of these standards.
• Directs the implementation of company standards; resolves problems; and identifies warehouse system improvements.
• Keeps equipment operating by managing and enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; providing oversight and budgeting for repairs.
• Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing, directing, and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
• Controls inventory levels by managing oversight of physical counts and their reconciliation with the data storage system.
• Maintains the physical condition of the warehouse by directing, planning and implementing new design layouts; routine equipment inspections; overseeing and issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement; and ensuring compliance with FMCNA safety regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) standards.
• Administers the formal annual performance review over reports and provides informal feedback to warehouse personnel throughout the year.
• Oversees the optimal utilization of space through warehouse consolidation.
• Directs the timely and accurate completion of all necessary records and reports to ensure internal and external compliance.
• Responsible for hiring, coaching, counseling employees, including performance reviews, disciplinary action, and terminations.

Requirements:

Position requires either (i) a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Management, Communications, Supply Chain Management or a closely related field and 2 years of experience as a Warehouse Manager or Buyer in an industrial setting or (ii) 4 years of experience as a Warehouse Manager or Buyer in an industrial setting. Must also have 2 years of experience (which can have been gained concurrently with either of the experience requirements above) working with the following:

• SAP or another ERP system including an MRP/demand planning system;
• Negotiating terms (pricing, terms, conditions and statements of work) for corporate vendors;
• Analyzing procurement performance including freight cost, savings, price point variance and risk management;
• Production control and financial analysis including budgeting, forecasting and business modeling; and
• Executing and generating cost reduction improvements. #LI-DNI
