Department: Tournament and Venue Operations

Location: Kansas City

Description

Reporting organizationally to the Regional Manager, Venue Transport, the Manager, Venue Transport will be a key member of the FIFA26 Transport team, working closely with the FIFA26 Operational Services team. This role involves conceptual and operational planning, overseeing all transportation operations at FIFA World Cup 2026 stadiums, and building, training, and motivating the venue operations team, including paid staff, contractors, and volunteers, during FCWC 2025 & FWC 2026. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, multitasker, able to work under pressure, and committed to follow-through.

The Position

The main responsibilities of the Manager, Venue Transport, include:

  1. Ensuring cost-effective and efficient venue transport operations.
  2. Performing traffic analysis to test proposed plans.
  3. Coordinating with key stakeholders and the Transport Integration team for agreements and approvals.
  4. Collaborating with all FIFA26 Constituent Groups and transport systems to develop compatible plans.
  5. Working with Host City teams to coordinate transport provisions and access to/from stadiums and venues.
  6. Coordinating transport plans with Security to ensure alignment.
  7. Preparing risk analyses and developing mitigation strategies.
  8. Liaising with bus and fleet operations staff to ensure successful transportation.
  9. Managing relationships with suppliers and contractors at parking, traffic management, and load zone locations.
  10. Contributing to the development of Local Area Traffic Management Plans with the Host City.
  11. Managing transport information desks and supervising staff and volunteers on site.
  12. Overseeing the management of VAPP boards and transport load zones at each venue.
  13. Managing the placement, control, and storage of transport-related FF&E.
Your Profile

Candidates should possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Transport, Civil Engineering, Project Management, Event Management, Major Sport Events, or related fields; Master’s Degree is an asset.
  • At least 5 years of transport experience, ideally within sports or major events; or at least 3 years as a Venue Transport Manager or similar management role.
  • Experience in conducting interviews regarding accidents, complaints, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to respond effectively to questions from staff, managers, and clients.
  • Motivated, independent worker with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in venue, site, or facility operations within at least one major project or sport event (e.g., FIFA World Cup, Olympics).
  • Experience working with public and private sector partners and building strong collaborations.
  • Basic knowledge of transit operations for moving FIFA Constituents, including city layout understanding.
  • Intermediate knowledge of administration and management principles.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish and/or French is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and planning software, including online collaboration tools.
