BCRTA is seeking a Maintenance Manager in Cincinnati, Ohio, to lead the shop for their growing transit system. This role emphasizes hands-on vehicle maintenance experience and leadership of a team of technicians. The ideal candidate will manage daily operations, enhance processes through technology, and ensure the safety and readiness of the fleet.
Interested individuals should have at least 2 years of maintenance experience and a high school diploma. BCRTA offers a chance to shape the future of a transit agency investing in its services and employees.
BCRTA is one of Ohio's fastest-growing transit agencies. We delivered more than 820,000 rides last year and we are expanding service, modernizing our fleet, and rethinking how a public maintenance operation should run. We are looking for a Maintenance Manager who wants to grow with us and put their stamp on a shop that is going places.
This is a builder's role, not a caretaker's. If you know your way around a maintenance bay and you are ready to lead, this is the role that lets you prove what you can do.
You will run the day-to-day of one of our vehicle maintenance operation depots: the fleet, the equipment, and most importantly the team of technicians who keep it all road-ready. You will set the schedule, plan and track the work, develop your people, and make sure every bus is safe and ready when service starts.
You will also help us run a modern shop. We use an HRIS for scheduling, a work order management system for planning and tracking labor, and digital timekeeping, and we want a manager who sees these tools as an advantage, not a chore. If you get a little excited about clean data, smart scheduling, and a dashboard that actually tells you something, you will fit right in here.
We hire for capability, leadership, and attitude. The person who thrives here will bring:
High school diploma required. Automotive technical training, or a degree in business, operations, or engineering, is a strong plus. CDL with appropriate endorsements, or the ability to obtain one. This is a safety‑sensitive position subject to DOT physical qualification standards.
You will join an agency that is investing in its future and in its people. You will report to the Director of Maintenance and Infrastructure, have real ownership of your operation, and have direct hand in shaping how BCRTA grows. For a manager ready to lead, this is a chance to take on meaningful responsibility and build something you are proud of.
Ready to lead the shop behind a growing transit system? We want to hear from you.
