Bachelor's degree in education, organizational leadership, project management, communications, public administration, instructional technology, business administration, or related field required. Master's degree preferred. Eight years of progressively responsible experience in program management, grant administration, project coordination, statewide initiatives, education operations, workforce development, distance learning, adult education, or related areas required. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Performs advanced managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of a business function for the Distance Education Professional Development Center (DEPDC), a statewide initiative supported through the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). Provides operational leadership, grant administration, and cross-functional coordination.
This is a full-time, temporary, benefits-eligible, grant funded position expected to end on or before 5/31/2027. Continuation of this position is contingent upon continued funding.
Serves as the primary operational liaison between SHSU Online and Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and is responsible for managing workflows, reporting activities, communications, external partnerships, and operational continuity across multiple functional areas supporting the Distance Education Professional Development Center (DEPDC) initiative. Works collaboratively with technical operations, professional development, instructional support, accessibility, communications, and external partners to ensure DEPDC services operate cohesively, efficiently, and in alignment with statewide grant objectives. Coordinates and participates in meetings with TWC, statewide partners, vendors, Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) providers, and internal stakeholders. Oversees grant deliverables, operational milestones, timelines, compliance requirements, and reporting obligations. Manages collection, organization, and submission of operational reports, participation data, budget-related information, and program documentation. Works collaboratively with SHSU Online operational leaders to ensure alignment, continuity, and effective delivery of DEPDC services. Maintains DEPDC external-facing resources, including websites, social media accounts, communications materials, event resources, and operational documentation. Coordinates with vendors, curriculum providers, and external stakeholders. Monitors public-facing DEPDC information to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with TWC objectives and SHSU standards. Develops and maintains operational workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), transition documentation, and process guides related to DEPDC operations. Identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency, communication flow, reporting processes, and statewide coordination activities. Assists leadership in evaluating operational effectiveness and implementing continuous improvement efforts. Manages operational activities related to statewide DEPDC webinars, regional trainings, conferences, meetings, and the annual Digital Literacy & Technology Integration Symposium. Performs other related duties as assigned.
