Job summary

Kraft Heinz in Chicago is seeking a Manager, Transportation Financial Performance to bridge Transportation Operations and Finance. You will translate operational activity into financial KPI visibility and drive cost insight for decision-makers.

You will partner with Logistics FP&A, support month-end close, and develop tools for real-time cost awareness. This role emphasizes strong operational fluency and financial storytelling across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in Transportation operations, supply chain, or a finance role with strong operational exposure.
• Strong understanding of Transportation cost drivers — freight, carrier management, fines, fuel, and network operations.
• Financial literacy — comfortable reading P&Ls, interpreting KPIs, and building business cases.
• Strong communication skills — able to engage credibly with both Ops leaders and Finance partners.
• Analytical mindset — able to connect operational data to financial outcomes.
• Collaborative and proactive — comfortable working across functions without direct authority.
• Experience with SAP, Excel, and data visualization tools preferred.
• Exposure to AI tools, dashboards, or automation initiatives is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the weekly performance meeting cadence with Transportation Ops leadership and Logistics Procurement.
• Act as the primary Finance point of contact for Transportation operational teams.
• Develop a deep understanding of Transportation cost drivers like carrier rates, fuel, network utilization, fines, and penalties.
• Partner with Ops to identify root causes behind cost variances and co-develop action plans.
• Track and report Transportation financial KPIs on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Translate operational performance (volume, lanes, carrier mix, service failures) into financial impact.
• Provide timely explanations of cost variances to the Logistics FP&A team to support month-end close and forecast.
• Build and maintain financial visibility tools that give Ops leaders real-time cost awareness.
• Lead savings calculations for Transportation productivity initiatives (Champions program).
• Facilitate performance discussions, track action plan progress, and follow up on open items.
• Support contract negotiations and renewals by providing cost analysis and financial overview to Procurement.
• Quantify and track incremental cost impacts from network changes, carrier transitions, and service level adjustments.
• Partner with Finance Intelligence to co-develop operational visibility dashboards and AI-powered reporting tools.
• Provide subject matter expertise on Transportation workflows to support automation and tool design.
• Champion adoption of new tools within Transportation Ops and Finance teams.

Manager, Transportation Financial Performance at a Glance….

The Manager, Transportation Financial Performance is the key link between Transportation Operations and Logistics Finance. This role sits within the Financial Performance pillar and is responsible for deepening the financial partnership with Transportation Ops leaders, translating operational activity into financial KPI visibility, and helping the business understand the cost drivers behind its results.

The role reports to the Sr. Manager, Logistics Financial Performance and works in close collaboration with the Logistics FP&A team, providing the operational context and inputs that feed the monthly close, forecast, and BU conversations.

This is not a traditional finance role. The ideal candidate is someone who is deeply fluent in how Transportation operations work and who can translate that knowledge into financial language that drives decisions and action plans with Operations Leadership.

New Hire Base Salary Range:

$104,200.00 - $130,200.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
