Manager, Transportation
The American Museum of Natural History is one of the world's preeminent scientific and cultural institutions, and has as its mission to discover, interpret and disseminate information about human cultures, the natural world and the universe through a wide-ranging program of scientific research, education and exhibition.
The Transportation department is seeking a full-time Manager, responsible for day-to-day department operations and the parking garage and supervising employees in these areas. The Manager is the main liaison with other departments conducting business with the Transportation department and the parking garage.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise employees working in the Transportation department, including hourly and unionized employees.
- Manage all bus activity related to Museum visitations.
- Ensure all Transportation-area operating procedures are followed.
- Act as the central point of contact for and provide service to all customers using the Transportation department's services or the parking garage.
- Provide support for the Senior Director in collecting and assembling information regarding the various operations within the department, maintaining equipment and supplies and making recommendations related to personnel matters and the purchase and upkeep of capital equipment.
- Ensure all areas are clean, well-maintained and functioning.
- Collaborate with other departments in emergency management scenarios, particularly relating to weather-related incidents.
- Maintain availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays, as needed, and to respond to occasional requests outside of normal working hours to support parking operations.
The expected salary range for the Manager, Transportation is $65,000/annual - $75,000/annual. The AMNH offers an extensive benefits package designed to meet the needs of our dedicated and diverse community.
Pay will be determined based on several factors. The hiring range for the position at commencement is based on the type of work and the scope of responsibilities. The salary and placement offered is based on a number of individualized factors, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, education, credentials, areas of specialization and depth and scope of experience.
