The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to provide work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is part of the management team and is expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will lead by example to maintain an engaged, productive team. Responsibilities include:
MITs will complete operational and management training, learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Progression through the program is required to remain in the pipeline for management openings.
Note: Promotion to a Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and availability.
