The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that offers work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Progression to a management role may occur within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
As a management team member, an MIT is expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will lead a store team through strong leadership, initiative, and example-setting. The MIT supports the Store Manager in:
MITs are responsible for completing training in operations and management skills, learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Maintaining satisfactory performance and demonstrating progression are essential for continued consideration for management openings.
