The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role offering work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is a management team member expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will lead a store team through strong leadership, initiative, and example-setting.
The MIT supports the Store Manager in:
MITs are responsible for completing operations and management training, learning about key business aspects and AutoZone culture. Performance and progression through training are necessary to remain in the pipeline and be considered for management openings.
Note: Promotion from MIT to Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager is not guaranteed and depends on performance and management openings.
