The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role providing work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Store Management positions. Progression to management typically occurs within 8-12 weeks, depending on experience and performance.
As a management team member, an MIT is expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will lead the team, demonstrate initiative, and manage store operations including:
MITs must complete training, learn about AutoZone culture, and demonstrate progress to remain in the program. Promotion to store management is not guaranteed and depends on performance and openings.
