Position Overview

The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Typically, progression to management occurs within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

• Be a member of the management team, live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance.
• Support the Store Manager in overall store operations, including:

• Retail/Commercial management, supervision, and policy enforcement
• Financial management, including analyzing and reconciling P&L statements
• Employee staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

Complete operations and management training, learn about AutoZone culture, and demonstrate progress to remain in the program. Promotion to management depends on performance and availability.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Flexibility to work full-time, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual preferred; automotive and financial analysis experience are a plus but not required
