The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Progression to management within approximately 8-12 weeks is possible, depending on experience and performance.
An MIT is a member of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will maintain an engaged, productive team through strong leadership and initiative.
The MIT supports the Store Manager in:
MITs must complete operations and management training, learn about key business aspects and AutoZone culture, and demonstrate progression to remain in the program. Promotion to management depends on performance and availability.
